Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, holidays as assigned

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide skilled nursing care to NICU Level 2 babies, including phototherapy, respiratory support, and medication titration
Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, performing initial assessments and stabilization
Care for postpartum mother-baby couplets when SCN census is low
Start and maintain IVs, assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Operate Bubble CPAP and Hiflow equipment, manage transfers to higher level of care
Collaborate with neonatologists and respiratory therapists for optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

Active RN license in Washington State
NRP and BLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of combined NICU Level 2 and postpartum experience preferred
Proven ability to attend deliveries as the baby nurse
Experience with IV start and maintenance, Bubble CPAP, Hiflow, and umbilical line placement
Comfortable titrating drips such as D5W and TPN

Knowledge & Skills

Strong neonatal assessment and critical thinking skills
Proficiency in respiratory support modalities (CPAP, BiPap, Hiflow)
Ability to flex between NICU and postpartum assignments seamlessly
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of neonatal withdrawal and sepsis management
