Location: Bismarck, North Dakota

Start Date: 07-13-2026

End Date: 10-12-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional nursing care to patients on a 30-bed MedSurg unit specializing in post-surgical recovery
Manage patients recovering from total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries, and bariatric procedures
Monitor and manage common drips such as heparin and PCA pumps
Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care techs to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Perform bedside shift report to ensure seamless continuity of care
Float to medical and telemetry units as needed to assist with patient care

Qualifications

Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state
BLS certification required (AHA)
Prefer surgical experience, post-op care, and early ambulation skills
First-time travelers welcome
Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of post-surgical care including drain management (JP, Hemovac) and colostomy care
Proficient in monitoring and troubleshooting telemetry strips
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
