Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every 3rd weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Take charge of patient care in our MedSurg and ER departments, managing a diverse caseload from swing bed rehab to critical trauma patients
Titrate critical drips such as insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed while monitoring patient responses
Respond to cardiorespiratory, stroke, and sepsis codes, as well as trauma activations
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients, starting IVs and working with PICC/Ports
Interpret telemetry strips and document accurately using Meditech EMR
Float seamlessly between MedSurg and ER, communicating directly with hospitalists and flight transport teams

Qualifications

Active RN license in Minnesota
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Proven ER and MedSurg experience (must have ER experience to be considered)
Comfortable working independently with minimal staff in a fast-paced environment
Ability to admit, discharge, transfer, and titrate medications effectively

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in titrating drips and managing critical infusions
Proficiency in starting IVs and accessing PICC/Ports
Strong telemetry interpretation and documentation skills
Understanding of EMTALA regulations and flight transport protocols
Experience with Meditech EMR
