Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to adult patients in a 40-bed PCU with a focus on cardiac, respiratory, and medical-surgical conditions
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms, titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
• Manage arterial lines and high-flow oxygen therapy as needed
• Collaborate with charge nurses, techs, and interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient ratios (1:4-5)
• Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and discharge planning
• Participate in patient experience initiatives to improve responsiveness and communication

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska (or compact license) - license required at submittal
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1-2 years of PCU experience preferred; comfortable with telemetry and drip titration
• Competent in arterial line management and high-flow oxygen devices
• Team player with strong communication skills and adaptability
• Willing to float to MedSurg or ICU as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and read own telemetry strips
• Proficiency in titration of cardiac drips and managing IV infusion pumps
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Cultural sensitivity to diverse patient populations (Hispanic, Somalian)
• Flexibility and willingness to learn and take feedback
