Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to oncology and trauma PCU patients in a mixed medical-surgical and progressive care unit
• Administer chemotherapy and titrate drips such as insulin and cardizem as needed
• Monitor patients on ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring devices (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) with training provided
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and dietitians
• Perform hourly rounding to enhance patient experience and safety
• Float to med/surg and PCU units as needed to support team

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in PCU/med-surg and oncology nursing
• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification required
• Driver's license required at submission to verify distance
• EPIC experience preferred but not required (must be noted if within 6 months)
• Must not be employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility within 50 miles

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong oncology nursing skills including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• PCU-level monitoring including titration of cardiac drips
• Comfortable with multiple patient ratios: 1:4 PCU, 1:5 med-surg
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly with only 2 days of orientation
