Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-13-2026

End Date: 09-12-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shift; one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat patients with diverse diagnoses including general medical deconditioning, orthopedic surgeries (TKA, THA, spinal surgeries), and CVA
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function and mobility
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER settings
Document patient progress and adjust interventions as needed
Provide patient and family education for discharge planning

Qualifications

Valid California Physical Therapy license
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Acute inpatient PT experience required
Ability to cover Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units

Knowledge & Skills

Orthopedic rehabilitation and post-surgical protocols
Neurological rehabilitation for CVA patients
Patient assessment and treatment planning
Manual therapy and therapeutic exercise techniques
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
