Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (clinic), plus night call 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM Monday-Friday and 24-hour weekend call Saturday-Sunday

Candidate Pay Rate: $2538 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Collaborate with pediatric providers to diagnose surgical needs in patients from newborns to teenagers
Manage and perform preoperative, operative, and postoperative care for pediatric patients
Provide on-call coverage for the Pediatric Emergency Department, with a 15-minute callback time for emergencies
Round on admitted patients and handle weekend surgical consults as needed
Triage incoming calls during office hours with support staff assistance

Qualifications

Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery (Required)
Active Virginia State Medical License (Required)
COVID-19 Vaccination (Required)
Professional liability coverage of $2.6M/$7.8M (VA statute limitations) if requested
Ability to respond within 30 minutes for emergency consults

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in pediatric surgery including preoperative, operative, and postoperative care
Strong collaboration skills to work with a multidisciplinary team
Ability to triage and manage a low-volume but critical patient caseload (0-4 patients per day)
Familiarity with electronic health records and office triage processes
