Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and develop individualized care plans focused on safety and recovery
• Implement physician orders and clinical protocols with attention to detail and best practices
• Provide compassionate patient and family education to support informed decision-making
• Coordinate the healthcare team and delegate appropriate tasks to ensure smooth care delivery
• Perform and document nursing interventions accurately and promptly
• Monitor newborns and infants in the Special Care Nursery/NICU and respond to changes in condition
• Support labor and delivery processes, including electronic fetal monitoring and perioperative assistance when needed
• Advocate for patients and maintain ethical and legal accountability in all aspects of care

Qualifications

• Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Wyoming
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required and maintained
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required if caring for pediatrics
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for certain perioperative/circulating roles
• Intermediate and Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring training (complete within timelines)
• Previous hospital experience preferred, especially in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Special Care Nursery, Pediatrics or NICU

Education

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and care planning skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Effective problem solving and clinical decision-making
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Time management, organization, and accurate documentation
• Comfort learning and using new computer software and electronic health records
• Delegation skills and ability to coordinate ancillary staff
• Understanding of ethical and legal responsibilities in nursing practice
