Shift Type: Rotating day 12-hour shifts (varied days, may include weekends and holidays): examples include 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM. Guaranteed 36 hours/week. Day shift focus with call rotation as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care for patients in the Operating Room across general, ENT, neuro, spine, ortho and robotics cases
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR techs to ensure patient safety and smooth case flow
• Triage and manage trauma and neuro patients, applying acuity-based decision making in fast-paced situations
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to maintain continuity of care and compliance
• Support unit operations by assisting with case coordination, turnover efficiency, and equipment needs
• Step into charge nurse responsibilities when needed to lead the team and ensure safe staffing
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and continuing education to maintain competency

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to submit license documentation)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience (explicit requirement)
• Must have trauma and neuro experience (required)
• Operating Room experience strongly preferred
• BLS (AHA) required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Driver's license required for submission and clinicians should be within a 60-mile radius; clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN preferred but not required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
• 12 hours of unit-specific orientation required

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative and acute care nursing principles
• Trauma care and neuro-specific assessment and interventions
• Operating Room workflows, instrumentation familiarity and case coordination
• Experience with EPIC for perioperative documentation
• Comfort with robotics, ENT, spine, ortho and general surgery case types
• Strong communication, teamwork and situational awareness
• Ability to float within Zone 1 facilities if extreme need arises
