Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Administer medications, start and manage IVs, and perform necessary procedures safely
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver cohesive care
• Provide clear, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient response
• Respond to life-threatening emergencies with calm, decisive action
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Support department flow by anticipating needs and communicating effectively during handoffs

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain one
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred or obtainable
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced Emergency Room environment
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet employer health requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-stress situations
• Skilled in patient stabilization, wound care, and basic trauma interventions
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks efficiently
