Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert periprocedural nursing care for cath lab patients and support a smooth procedural flow
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms to ensure patient safety
• Administer and document medications accurately, following pharmacology protocols
• Maintain sterile technique and manage cath lab equipment and supplies
• Complete competency exams, skills checklists, and specialty testing as required
• Verify patient identity, consent, and pre-procedure requirements including screenings and immunizations
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Document care thoroughly in the medical record and participate in quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Nursys verification
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• DCI/BVP certification as listed in the posting
• Completion of required competency tests (rhythm interpretation, pharmacology, core competencies, specialty exam)
• Ability to pass required screenings: drug screen, fit test, TB testing, required immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Influenza, Tdap)
• Strong clinical judgment and experience or demonstrated competency in cath lab procedures and cardiac rhythm interpretation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active RN license required (Nursys verification)

• Cath Lab procedures and instrumentation
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Basic pharmacology for cardiac and procedural medications
• Clinical competencies and sterile technique
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
• Accurate documentation and use of electronic medical records
• Patient assessment, peri-procedural monitoring, and emergency response
