Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition and develop individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor vital signs and intervene as needed to maintain patient stability
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR promptly
- Provide patient and family education with compassion and clarity
- Promote a safe, therapeutic environment and adhere to infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or ability to obtain prior to start
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred where applicable
- Clinical experience in acute care or rehabilitation preferred
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Ability to work 12.5-hour day shifts (Monday-Wednesday) and manage a fast-paced caseload
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and IV therapy competency
- Care planning and discharge coordination
- Proficient documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
