Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and perform thorough speech, language, and swallowing assessments
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that drive progress
• Provide skilled therapy sessions and adapt interventions to patient needs
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and on time
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support patient goals
• Educate and coach patients, families, and caregivers to support carryover and functional outcomes
• Participate in care planning and support safe discharge transitions

Qualifications

• Valid state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in Rhode Island, or ability to obtain licensure promptly
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred (if applicable) or equivalent clinical certification
• Clinical experience in evaluation and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders
• Current immunizations and ability to clear standard facility background checks
• Strong documentation skills and comfort using electronic medical records

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent clinical credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized and informal assessment techniques
• Expertise in treatment planning for speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia
• Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies
• Strong clinical reasoning, prioritization, and time-management abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with patients and clinicians
• Familiarity with documentation standards, regulatory requirements, and outcome measurement
