Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night). Typical day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; typical night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Includes every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation. (Rotation covers ER, inpatient and some outpatient coverage.)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care across all ages (neonatal through adult), performing ABGs and EKGs as needed
• Manage and titrate ventilators and non-invasive devices (PB980, Hamilton C1, V60 BiPAP, high-flow oxygen therapy)
• Respond to respiratory needs in the ER and inpatient areas and function independently when you may be the only RT on duty
• Accurately document assessments and treatments in the Meditech EMR
• Participate in fit testing and adhere to facial hair/fit-test policy to maintain safety standards
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists and the multidisciplinary team to support patient care
• Support department workflows during weekends and holiday rotations to ensure continuous coverage

Qualifications

• ND Respiratory Therapy License required at time of submission
• CRT or RRT required (RRT preferred)
• BLS and ACLS required
• PALS and NRP preferred
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
• Ability to work independently and confidently — you may be the only RT in-house at times
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, holidays and every 3rd weekend
• Must pass required fit testing; facial hair that prevents a successful fit test may disqualify

Knowledge & Skills

• Meditech EMR charting and documentation
• ABG sampling and interpretation
• EKG performance
• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management (PB980, Hamilton C1)
• Non-invasive ventilation and high-flow oxygen therapy (V60 BiPAP, high flow)
• Experience across care settings: ER, inpatient, outpatient
• Infection control and fit-testing procedures
