Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support safe transfers, mobility, bathing, dressing and toileting with dignity and respect
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
- Maintain infection control practices and a safe, clean environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid in Maine
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background checks, health screening, and any facility-required screenings
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals and safe body mechanics
- Basic charting and documentation practices
- Infection prevention and standard precautions
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Effective, respectful communication with residents, families and team members
