Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM OR 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (day/evening shifts) with on-call rotation; Gen OR weeknight call 4-5 nights per 6 weeks, CVOR weeknight call 5-10 nights per 6 weeks, CVOR typically 2 weekends per 6 weeks, holiday call 2-3 twelve-hour shifts per year. Shift type: day (with evening coverage and on-call/rotation).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in both general OR and cardiovascular OR settings
• Collaborate with surgical teams during cases including total joints, general surgery, spine, urology, and open heart procedures
• Use Cerner for accurate charting, handoffs, and documentation
• Support patient safety by following sterile technique and OR protocols
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond within the facility call response time of 30 minutes
• Work with charge nurse and specialty leads to coordinate case flow and patient assignments
• Assist with patient positioning, monitoring, and perioperative patient management as indicated
• Float occasionally to support department needs in non-procedural areas when required

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure eligible to practice in Arizona
• ACLS and BLS certifications required for RNs
• Minimum one year of full-time perioperative or OR experience required; posting indicates two years of overall experience
• Experience or comfort working in both OR and CVOR environments
• Familiarity with Cerner or other electronic medical record systems
• Ability to meet on-call response time of 30 minutes
• Professional communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary surgical teams

Education

• Active RN license (state of practice required)
• ADN or diploma acceptable, BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative and CVOR nursing practices and protocols
• Familiarity with common cases: total joints, general surgery, spine, urology, and open heart procedures
• Proficiency with Cerner for charting and documentation
• Understanding of sterile technique and OR safety standards
• Case flow coordination and intraoperative patient monitoring
• Teamwork with scrub techs, surgeons, anesthesiology, and specialty leads
