Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care and assist patients with activities of daily living with dignity and respect
- Monitor and record patient conditions, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe patient transfers and mobility to reduce fall risk
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as basic vital sign checks and observation
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
- Create a warm, reassuring environment that promotes patient comfort and trust
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Active authorization to work in New Mexico and ability to provide local documentation as needed
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Clean background check and required immunizations (TB screening, as per facility policy)
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred, new CNAs are welcome to apply
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of infection control and patient safety practices
- Hands-on skills in assisting with bathing, feeding, toileting and mobility
- Ability to observe and report clinical changes accurately
- Time management skills to prioritize patient needs during busy shifts
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Basic charting and documentation competency
