Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic, portable, C-arm and fluoroscopic procedures with precision and care
- Review clinical history and imaging orders; coordinate with radiologists when needed to ensure high-quality care
- Educate and prepare patients for procedures so they feel informed and at ease
- Select and operate imaging equipment and capture devices, ensuring proper technique and image quality
- Position patients safely and comfortably to demonstrate the anatomic area of interest
- Apply ALARA and radiation protection principles to minimize exposure for patients and staff
- Process and review images for proper identification and quality control before physician review
- Document all procedure details in the electronic medical record and submit images to PACS for interpretation
- Prepare contrast media and assist in administration as required for special procedures
- Provide practical instruction and mentorship to radiography students and new technologists
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT Radiography registration required
- Minimum of 2 years of radiography experience
- Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois (not applicable for this Wisconsin position)
- Demonstrated competence with portable, C-arm and fluoroscopic procedures
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiography and fluoroscopy techniques
- Comfortable using PACS, Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Expertise in patient positioning and radiation safety/ALARA principles
- Experience with portable and mobile radiologic equipment and C-arm operations
- Skill in image processing, quality control, and image sharing workflows
- Ability to assist radiologists during special procedures and prepare contrast media
- Excellent patient communication, education, and safety practices
