Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM, Day shift with required on-call nights/weekends/holidays (20-30 minute response); may include 10-hour shifts as scheduled (day_night)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist during surgical procedures, maintaining a precise and sterile field
- Prepare and organize instruments, supplies, implants and equipment for each case
- Perform accurate instrument and sponge counts to ensure patient safety
- Anticipate surgeon needs and provide timely instrument exchanges during procedures
- Document procedures and assist with charting in MEDITECH to keep patient records complete
- Float between Oregon Surgery Center and Mercy Medical Center when staffing needs demand
- Respond promptly to on-call requests (20–30 minute response time) for emergent coverage
- Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to quickly integrate with the team
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of scrub/OR experience (preferred and noted in job posting)
- Familiarity with MEDITECH charting is a plus
- Comfortable with floating between nearby facilities and adapting to varied OR case mixes
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for weeknights, weekends and holidays
- OR license not required for this assignment
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and operating room protocols
- Proficiency with instrumentation for ortho, general, gyne, robotic and trauma cases
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload (15–20 cases per day)
- Clear, calm communication and excellent teamwork skills in high-pressure situations
- Basic charting and documentation skills in MEDITECH
- Quick decision-making, attention to detail, and reliable time management
