Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for adult and geriatric Med/Surgical patients
• Float confidently between units of similar or lower acuity to meet patient needs
• Perform competent IV starts, monitor telemetry, and interpret dysrhythmias to support timely interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, PT, pharmacy and rapid response teams
• Accurately document care in EPIC and maintain meticulous clinical records
• Participate in rapid response/code situations and assist with emergency response as needed
• Administer blood products and manage central/PICC lines while following institutional protocols
• Deliver wound care including Wound Vac management and support patients through ortho and neuro perioperative care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surgical nursing experience
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• Proven competence in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Experience charting in EPIC electronic health record system
• Travel nursing experience required
• Comfort managing patient ratios of approximately 1:4-5 and floating between units
• Strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills
• Preferred certifications/skills: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, trauma/teaching hospital exposure

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• IV therapy, PICC/central line care and blood product administration
• Respiratory support: HFNC, CPAP/BIPAP familiarity, chest tube management
• Tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management
• ABG interpretation and hemodynamic awareness
• Wound care including Wound Vac and post-op ortho care
• Familiarity with heparin protocols, PCA, and non-titration cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking in fast-paced settings
