Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough evaluations and hands-on treatments using manual techniques and therapeutic exercise
- Develop individualized, evidence-based rehabilitative programs for a wide range of diagnoses
- Deliver patient education to empower recovery, improve function, and prevent re-injury
- Manage post-operative care and support patients through joint replacement and orthopedic rehab
- Implement gait, balance, and fall-prevention training for diverse patient populations
- Collaborate with PTAs, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document accurate progress notes and maintain timely charting in the EMR
- Be prepared to flex between outpatient and inpatient PT duties as clinical needs arise
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) — required
- Minimum 2 years of current PT clinical experience (new grads will not be considered)
- Active Vermont physical therapy license in hand at profile upload (facility will not pend)
- New Hampshire PT license or compact credential must be uploaded with profile as requested
- Current American Heart Association BLS (required)
- Previous rehabilitation experience and comfort treating common outpatient diagnoses (orthopaedics, post-op, balance/vestibular, neuro, pulmonary)
- Experience working with PTAs preferred; travel therapy experience strongly preferred
- CPSI EMR experience highly preferred
- Traveler must have own vehicle (small community with limited public transport)
- CAQH and NPI to be provided/updated after start
Education
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited school of Physical Therapy (required)
- Graduate from an accredited program and active state licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise prescription
- Proficient in patient evaluation and development of individualized treatment plans
- Experience with outpatient PT caseloads including orthopaedics, post-operative care, gait and balance training
- Comfort treating neurological, pulmonary, pelvic floor, and work-related injuries
- Ability to supervise and collaborate with PTAs and other clinical staff
- Familiarity with EMR systems (CPSI preferred) and documentation best practices
- Strong patient education, communication, and time-management skills
