Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift; days of week not specified)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and support for residents’ activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility in a dignified manner
- Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with caregivers and families
- Support social and activity programs to promote resident engagement and wellbeing
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection-control protocols
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required) - you must be certified as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or working with geriatric populations is a plus
- Compassionate attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to follow care plans and complete required documentation accurately
Education
- GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing assistant duties
- Knowledge of infection control best practices and resident safety principles
- Comfortable with basic resident transfers and mobility assistance techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with residents and families
- Reliable documentation and time-management skills
