Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate diagnostic imaging equipment skillfully across modalities used by the department
- Perform X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT, digital mammography, MRI, nuclear medicine, PET-CT, ultrasound and bone density imaging as appropriate
- Provide safe, patient-centered care and prioritize radiation safety and infection control
- Collaborate with OR and perioperative teams to deliver timely imaging support
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain exams clearly, and document clinical information accurately
- Ensure high-quality images for fast, accurate diagnoses and communicate findings to the care team when appropriate
- Maintain equipment, follow departmental protocols, and participate in quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Current ARRT RT(R) credential required
- Current unencumbered Oregon Radiologic Technologist License required
- Healthcare Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Comfort and experience working night shifts and weekend schedules
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging modalities (X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET-CT, Ultrasound, Bone Density)
- Competence with digital imaging systems and PACS
- Radiation safety principles and patient positioning expertise
- Ability to work in an OR environment and collaborate with surgical teams
- Excellent patient communication and clinical documentation skills
