Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Monitor resident condition and vital signs, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, promoting dignity and independence
- Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and communicate effectively with the care team
- Support mealtime assistance, hygiene, and comfort needs with attention to individual preferences
- Participate in care planning and collaborate with multi-disciplinary staff to meet resident goals
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
- Respond calmly and effectively to resident needs and urgent situations
Qualifications
- Valid LNA / Licensed Nursing Assistant certification required
- Must be local-only (LOCAL ONLY) with reliable transportation
- Candidates must have their own housing for the assignment
- Ability to work both weekends as required
- Comfortable working a 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM shift and providing hands-on resident care
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred (if not, assistance may be available)
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current LNA / Licensed Nursing Assistant certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in providing personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Knowledge of basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe resident handling
- Ability to observe, report, and escalate changes in resident condition
- Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced long-term care setting
- Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
- Comfortable with electronic or paper charting systems used in skilled nursing
