Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with ADLs like bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Assist with safe transfers and use of mobility aids to promote independence
- Support mealtime assistance and monitor dietary needs per care plans
- Document care and activities accurately and timely in resident records
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver resident-centered care
Qualifications
- GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and those with complex care needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow care plans
- Background check and any facility-required immunizations or screenings
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Basic vital signs monitoring and resident observation
- Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling
- Empathy, patience, and effective teamwork in a care setting
- Accurate documentation and time-management skills
