Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs with kindness and accuracy
• Assist providers during exams and clinical procedures
• Perform routine clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and injections as within scope
• Document patient encounters clearly and promptly in the electronic health record
• Coordinate patient flow, scheduling, and clear communication across the care team
• Maintain supplies, clean and sanitize equipment, and support a safe clinic environment
• Provide respectful, patient-centered care in a correctional facility setting

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or active MA certification preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or must be obtained upon hire
• Previous experience in outpatient, clinic, or correctional healthcare is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and required facility clearances
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and reliability for a Mon-Fri schedule

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; accredited Medical Assistant program completion preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical skills: vital signs, injections, phlebotomy, basic EKGs
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Knowledge of infection control practices and patient privacy (HIPAA)
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay calm in busy clinical workflows
• Team-oriented attitude and strong patient rapport
