Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator settings and provide expert mechanical ventilation support across age groups from neonates to geriatrics
• Deliver specialized NICU respiratory care and support neonatal ventilator management
• Perform thorough patient assessments and implement respiratory therapy interventions promptly
• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP/BiPAP and high flow devices
• Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain clear communication across shifts
• Provide critical care support in ICU, surgical, trauma, and cardiac settings when needed
• Work independently while exercising sound clinical judgment and prioritization

Qualifications

• Current ND state respiratory therapy license required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (NICU experience is a must)
• Comfort working across levels of care including NICU, ICU, trauma and med-surg
• Ability to work independently and make timely clinical decisions

Knowledge & Skills

• Experienced with ventilators and respiratory devices: Airvo, PB 840, PB 980, Hamilton C1, MR1, V-60 Respironics
• Skilled with noninvasive modalities: CPAP, BiPAP and high flow systems
• Proficient charting and documentation in EPIC
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization and critical thinking
• Effective team collaboration and communication with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptable to floating across units and comfortable in acute care and specialty settings
