Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage hospital-based inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services to ensure high-quality patient care
• Lead and develop clinic staff, fostering professional growth and a collaborative team culture
• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and establish individualized treatment plans
• Coordinate an orthopedic specialty field clinic, screening and prioritizing referrals for best patient outcomes
• Optimize department operations by monitoring revenue streams and managing department expenses
• Ensure compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations governing physical therapy practice
• Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered excellence
• Build and refine administrative processes in partnership with corporate teams and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in good standing in Alaska (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program (required)
• Minimum four (4) years active, full-time patient care experience
• Previous managerial/supervisory experience preferred
• Comfortable with village travel in small, non-pressurized planes and flexible clinic settings
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, including orthopedic clinic coordination

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or higher (from an accredited program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in physical therapy evaluations, treatment planning, and therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation)
• Strong clinic management skills including reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance
• Proficient with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint for tracking metrics and creating presentations
• Ability to communicate effectively across cultures, including working with Alaska Native communities
• Competent with standard office equipment and hospital-based PT equipment (hi-lo tables, therapeutic exercise gear)
• Good mathematical and reasoning skills for departmental budgeting and operational problem-solving
