Shift Type: Days: Not specified, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift) — 30-minute meal break

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults, treating each person with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding) to promote comfort and independence
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed
- Monitor resident condition and behavior; promptly report changes to nursing staff and document observations accurately
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment by communicating clearly with coworkers and participating in care planning
- Help maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and facility safety procedures
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent in Maryland, or eligible to obtain
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or required by facility
- Current immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings and background checks
- Prior experience working with older adult populations preferred; a caring attitude and strong work ethic are essential
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited GNA program or approved training
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and the common needs of older adults
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and supporting resident mobility and safety
- Competent documentation and reporting skills to maintain accurate resident records
- Familiarity with infection control practices and proper use of PPE
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to de-escalate stressful situations
