Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate safely in the operating room to ensure patient safety and smooth procedures
• Prepare the OR environment and equipment, verifying sterile fields and supplies
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists, and techs to anticipate needs during cases
• Perform patient assessments and handoffs, documenting care clearly in the chart
• Respond calmly and effectively to intraoperative changes and emergencies
• Support postoperative transfer and continuity of care for surgical patients
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide reliable coverage for urgent cases

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or a Compact state (required)
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience (required)
• Current CPR certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Current PALS or PEARS certification (required)
• Comfort with on-call duties, including occasional weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and sterile technique expertise
• Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity OR settings
• Proficiency with documentation and electronic medical records
• Ability to prioritize tasks and remain composed under pressure
• Familiarity with OR equipment, instrumentation, and supplies
