Shift Type: Tuesday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Day shift with on-call rotation (includes weekdays and weekends)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures, ensuring patient safety and smooth case flow
- Prepare and set up surgical instruments, disposables, and specialty equipment prior to cases
- Maintain a superior sterile conscience by consistently applying principles of asepsis and sterile technique
- Communicate clearly with circulating RNs and surgeons about any breaks in technique or equipment issues
- Operate and demonstrate competency with electrosurgical, diagnostic, and video equipment used in the OR
- Collaborate with Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, and Materials Management to ensure timely equipment availability
- Confirm all necessary equipment is in the room and functioning prior to incision to support efficient, safe care
Qualifications
- Certification as an OR Surgical Technologist (required)
- Current CPR certification (required)
- Orthopedic surgical experience (must have); comfortable assisting in ortho cases
- Demonstrated sterile technique and strong sterile conscience
- Familiarity with sterile processing, endoscopy, and materials management workflows
- Competency operating electrosurgical, diagnostic, video, and disposable surgical equipment
- Willingness to participate in equitable on-call rotation including weekends

- Surgical assisting and instrument handling
- Principles of asepsis and sterile technique
- Equipment setup and ensuring readiness for cases
- Sterile processing and endoscopy basics
- Materials management in the perioperative environment
- Safe operation of electrosurgical, diagnostic, and video equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork in high-stakes OR settings
- Patient safety mindset and attention to detail
