Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation to support continuity of care
• Promote a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and families
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and facility staff to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential; T-CNA recognized
• Valid CNA certification or eligibility to practice in New Mexico
• Demonstrated skill in basic patient care and comfortable with 12-hour shifts
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous long-term care or rehab experience is a plus but not strictly required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic patient care procedures and infection control practices
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and staff
• Time management and prioritization during busy shift periods
• Familiarity with electronic or paper charting systems is helpful
