Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead daily operating room operations to ensure safe, efficient perioperative care
• Provide clinical leadership by coordinating and delegating patient care in a fast-paced OR environment
• Supervise, coach and develop perioperative staff to build a high-performing team
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain regulatory compliance and keep the department up to date with law and policy changes
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and implement evidence-based practice strategies
• Assist in policy and procedure development for safe, efficient department operations
• Contribute to annual budget development and take appropriate actions to steward resources
• Participate in hands-on patient care as needed to remain clinically current and accessible
• Manage staffing activities including interviewing, orientation, scheduling and performance evaluation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (BSN preferred)
• Current Iowa RN license required (Compact allowed)
• Current BCLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year experience as a registered nurse (perioperative or OR experience strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated clinical leadership and staff supervision experience
• Experience working in or supporting a Level One Trauma Center is a plus
• Comfortable with policy, scheduling, budgeting and quality improvement responsibilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with physicians and interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Bachelor's Degree required (BSN preferred)
