Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and apply the nursing process to guide care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policy and State practice act
• Document patient care accurately and timely to meet standards of care
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in department performance improvement activities and shared governance
• Provide clinical guidance and support across units to ensure continuity of care
• Escalate patient safety concerns appropriately and contribute to a positive patient experience
• Engage in peer review, unit practice decisions, and the professional nursing continuum

Qualifications

• Active IL RN licensure (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• PALS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• TNCC or TNS certification (one required)
• Prior Emergency Room nursing experience (posting requests an experienced ER RN)
• Ability to work rotating mid and night shifts, including weekends and holidays

• Proficient with the nursing process and patient assessment
• Strong medication administration and documentation practices
• Care planning and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Critical thinking with a focus on patient safety
• Familiarity with emergency department workflows and protocols
