Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; schedule set by manager and may include weekdays and weekends. Every-other-weekend requirement and holidays as needed. Night-focused assignment with occasional float to day shifts and telemetry.

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality MedSurg nursing care for post-operative and medical overflow patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Manage IV therapy, PCA pumps, occasional heparin drips and TPN safely and confidently
- Care for patients with drains, colostomies and bariatric needs with compassion and skill
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including RT and monitor techs, to coordinate care
- Lead bedside shift report and ensure smooth handoffs for patient safety
- Float to telemetry or medical units as needed and assist with strip interpretation when assigned
Qualifications
- Current RN license in good standing (state license required)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience; MedSurg and post-operative experience preferred
- Comfortable with EPIC electronic charting and common hospital documentation practices
- Experience with IV/drip management, PCA pumps and TPN is strongly preferred
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour night shifts and every-other-weekend schedule
- Able to pass facility onboarding requirements and meet the 50-mile radius rule for this assignment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma accepted; BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of post-operative care, early ambulation protocols and wound/drain management
- Skilled in patient assessment, prioritization and delegation
- Competent in IV therapy, infusion devices and basic titratable drip management
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring workflows and when to escalate to specialty teams
- Strong communication and bedside-reporting skills to ensure continuity of care
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to adapt when floating between units
