Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inpatient nutrition assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning
- Document assessments, plans and progress accurately in Cerner
- Deliver patient and family education on therapeutic diets, tube feeding, and nutrition strategies
- Monitor and adjust nutrition interventions based on clinical status and lab results
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nutrition-related policy development
- Support safe feeding practices and follow hospital guidelines and attendance policies
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or equivalent credential preferred; state dietitian license as required
- Minimum 1 year clinical dietitian experience (as stated in the posting)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Comfort using Cerner or similar EMR for documentation
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field required; graduate degree or internship completion preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in clinical nutrition assessment and therapeutic diet planning
- Experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition concepts
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
- Clear, compassionate patient education and counseling skills
- Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary care teams
- Familiarity with hospital policies, safety and infection control practices
