Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain function
- Deliver therapeutic exercise, massage, gait training and balance training tailored to each patient
- Document patient progress thoroughly and accurately after each treatment session
- Communicate treatment results and patient status to the supervising physical therapist to support coordinated care
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and adjust treatment plans that meet patient goals
- Engage patients with clear instruction and encouragement to maximize outcomes and independence
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of PTA experience required
- Active Texas license or Compact license required
- Comfortable working under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and following established care plans
- Proven ability to document patient progress and report treatment results clearly
- State license: Texas (Compact allowed)
- No references required at time of submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Therapeutic exercise techniques for strengthening and functional recovery
- Massage skills to support soft tissue mobilization and pain relief
- Gait training methods to improve mobility and safety
- Balance training to reduce fall risk and improve stability
- Accurate patient documentation and progress reporting
- Strong communication and collaboration with supervising physical therapists
