Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the clinical team
- Document care activities accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
- Assist with feeding, hygiene, and comfort measures while promoting dignity and independence
- Collaborate with nurses and therapists to follow individualized care plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Comfortable working with older adults and supporting their physical and emotional needs
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-player mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfort and experience with resident personal care and ADLs
- Basic clinical observation skills and the ability to recognize changes in condition
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Infection prevention and basic safety protocols
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
