Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the clinical team
• Document care activities accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, and comfort measures while promoting dignity and independence
• Collaborate with nurses and therapists to follow individualized care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting their physical and emotional needs
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-player mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort and experience with resident personal care and ADLs
• Basic clinical observation skills and the ability to recognize changes in condition
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Safe transfer and positioning techniques
• Infection prevention and basic safety protocols
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
