Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and develop individualized care plans
• Implement and coordinate patient care, ensuring safety and best practices
• Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans as needed
• Provide clinical leadership to the patient care team on your assigned shift
• Document care and maintain accurate, current records in Cerner
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
• Mentor and guide less experienced staff, sharing your Med Surg expertise

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (Nursys must reflect active Illinois/IL license)
• Minimum 3+ years of Med Surg experience (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS (required)
• ACLS (AHA) — required within 30 days of start
• Completed skills checklist current to within 1 year (Med Surg-specific)
• Two completed supervisory reference forms with dates of employment
• Ability to provide work history and required documentation during submission
• Applicants within 50 miles of facility are not eligible; previous direct employees within the last 2 years may not be eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making in Med Surg settings
• Care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Clinical leadership and team coordination on shift
• Experience with Cerner EMR for documentation and care coordination
• Strong communication, delegation, and supervisory skills
• Proficiency in ACLS and BLS protocols and emergency response
