Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med-Surg nursing care to assigned patients
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility policies and best practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement patient-centered care plans
• Document care clearly and accurately in the patient record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and contributing to quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (must be eligible to practice in Tennessee)
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Travel nursing documentation current (immunizations, background checks, etc.)
• Strong clinical judgment, reliability, and the ability to work independently on night shifts

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med-Surg clinical assessment and prioritization skills
• Proficient medication administration and IV management
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing patient needs
