Shift Type: Rotating night schedule as assigned (may include weekends), 7:00 PM - 7:15 AM (12-hour nights, 36-hour guarantee)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients thoroughly and document findings using the nursing process
- Develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care based on assessments
- Implement nursing interventions and ensure accurate clinical documentation
- Evaluate patient response to care and update plans to achieve the best outcomes
- Delegate tasks to unit staff and oversee safe, effective execution of the care plan
- Provide leadership on the unit while working under the Med-Surg Nurse Manager
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
- Perform other assigned duties that support unit operations and patient safety
Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license required (LARA and/or Nursys must show Active Michigan/MI license)
- Current American Heart Association BLS required
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience
- Med-Surg Observation experience required
- Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Skills checklist current within 1 year (Med-Surg specialty)
- Two supervisory references completed within the last two years
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
- Care planning and implementation using the nursing process
- Clinical documentation accuracy and timeliness
- Safe delegation and staff oversight
- Experience with general Med-Surg populations including Oncology, Obstetrics observation, Hospice, and Medical & Surgical patients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital setting
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
