Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to inpatient rehab patients
• Administer medications and IVs safely, including PICC and PEG tube administration
• Perform assessments, monitor vitals, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physicians, and the care team to support patient functional goals
• Document care accurately in Meditech and maintain clear communication with the team
• Perform specialized unit procedures such as bladder scans, trach care, tube feedings, Foley catheter care, and bladder irrigation
• Support patient comfort and dignity while assisting with activities of daily living and rehabilitation goals

Qualifications

• Current LPN/LVN license in Virginia (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical nursing experience (Med/Surg, PCU or similar preferred)
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience with IV administration, PICC care, PEG tube administration, and blood administration preferred
• Comfort with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
• Rehab experience preferred but not required — willingness to learn and collaborate is essential

Education

• LPN/LVN diploma or certificate from an accredited nursing program
• Current Virginia LPN/LVN licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med/surg and inpatient rehab nursing skills
• Proficiency with IV therapy, PICC line management, and enteral feeding techniques
• Skill with bladder scanners, Foley catheter care, and bladder irrigation
• Ability to provide trach care and assist with tube feedings
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work effectively in a 12-hour shift environment and adapt to unit staffing needs
