Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients using evidence-based practice
• Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following policy and best practice
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions and positive outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions to support recovery
• Advocate for patient needs while maintaining safety, privacy, and professionalism

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be eligible to practice in the assignment state
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (medical-surgical preferred)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain as needed
• Demonstrated comfort with 12-hour night shift work and ability to manage a full acuity patient load
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of adult medical-surgical care, common diagnoses, and post-op management
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Skilled in patient assessment, wound care basics, and monitoring of vital signs and telemetry when applicable
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and clinical workflows
• Excellent communication, time management, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
