Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Day), with significant on-call responsibilities (up to 50% evenings) and up to 50% weekend on-call; call response time 30 minutes
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $45 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist during cardiovascular and hybrid room procedures, including CABG, TAVR, aortic and mitral valve surgeries
- Prepare and maintain sterile field, instruments, and equipment for high-acuity CVOR cases
- Anticipate surgeon needs and provide timely instrument and device delivery during procedures
- Document perioperative care accurately in Cerner and support EMR charting workflows
- Participate in orientation and collaborate with specialty leads and the charge nurse to ensure smooth unit operations
- Respond to on-call notifications promptly and be prepared to report to the hospital within the required 30-minute window
- Support room turnover, instrument processing, and supply management to keep cases on schedule
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years surgical tech experience, with at least 1 year of open heart/CVOR experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS preferred for RNs; techs required to maintain BLS as noted
- Prior experience scrubbing in CVOR or hybrid room cases (TAVR, CABG, valve repairs/replacements)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care setting and responding to on-call duties
- Familiarity with Cerner charting preferred
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven scrubbing technique and sterile processing skills
- Hands-on CVOR experience including TAVR, CABG, aortic and mitral valve procedures
- Strong teamwork and communication with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff
- Proficient with Cerner or similar EMR systems for perioperative documentation
- Ability to handle high case volume and maintain composure during complex procedures
- Understanding of hybrid OR setups and specialized cardiovascular instrumentation
