Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, includes weekends (typically 3-4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks) and holiday rotation — day shift (high-acuity cardiac schedule)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity cardiac critical care to postoperative cardiac surgery and CVICU patients
- Manage advanced bedside therapies including IABP, CRRT, ECMO support, Swan-Ganz monitoring and post-CABG care
- Perform and maintain competency in sterile procedures such as Foley insertion and central line dressing changes
- Monitor telemetry and dysrhythmias with required dysrhythmia competency and respond promptly to cardiac events
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned (no patient assignment while charging) and collaborate with multidisciplinary team
- Float to other ICUs and telemetry units as needed, ensuring safe patient handoffs and continuity of care
- Support bedside procedures (bronchoscopy, epidurals, port-a-cath involvement) and high volume of interventions
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner and communicate effectively with physicians, RT, and pharmacy
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the U.S. (able to submit license; agency willing to wait per policy)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/CVICU or cardiac critical care experience
- Level I trauma experience is required
- BLS and ACLS required; CCRN preferred
- Proven dysrhythmia competency — must pass dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed) prior to acceptance
- Must be able to pass day‑1 SIMs Lab skills (Foley insertion & central line dressing change) and maintain sterile field
- Strong IV skills; experience with high-acuity cardiac patients including IABP, CABG, TAVR, ECMO, CRRT is highly desired
- Travel teams must have their own vehicle and be willing to float to other units including Westgate
- Facility-specific appearance/fit-test requirements (natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean shaven for fit test)
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care and cardiac ICU nursing principles
- Cardiac telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records
- Familiarity with Phillips telemetry systems
- Competence in invasive monitoring (Swan-Ganz) and vasoactive drips
- Skilled in central line care, Foley insertion, sterile technique and complex IV management
- Comfort with ventilator management supported by 24/7 RT and collaborative practice with intensivists
- Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients and prioritize effectively
