Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour nights (nights only), rotating 7 on / 7 off style; guaranteed 48 hours/week; must work 2 weekend shifts per pay period; holiday and up-to-3 call shifts per 12-week period (exact start/end times vary by unit and will be provided by facility)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert CVICU nursing care for post-op cardiac and cardiac medical patients, including AMI, CAD, and PVD
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, Vapotherm/HiFlow and advanced respiratory needs in collaboration with RT
• Titrate vasoactive and sedation drips safely and per protocol (Dexmedetomidine, Propofol, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Levosimendan, insulin, Cardene, etc.)
• Operate and manage mechanical circulatory support including IABP (Impella experience desired)
• Perform continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and related monitoring
• Interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias (must pass facility dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signature)
• Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists and multidisciplinary team to escalate care when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and assist with charge/lead responsibilities when assigned

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to work in Arizona) — ADN acceptable; BSN preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or relevant cardiac ICU experience (unit requires more than two years in CVICU roles)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated ability with ventilator management, telemetry interpretation, and titration of drips
• Experience with IABP and CRRT required; fresh OHS (post-op from OR) experience preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to contract signing (80% passing threshold)
• Own transportation required if traveling as a duo (travel duo rules apply)

Education

• Active RN license required (able to practice in Arizona)
• ADN or diploma in Nursing accepted; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong dysrhythmia recognition and telemetry interpretation
• Proficiency in titrating vasoactive and sedative infusions safely
• Hands-on experience with CRRT and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
• Ventilator management and experience with Vents, BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm/HiFlow
• Familiarity with Cerner charting and clinical documentation
• Critical thinking, rapid assessment, and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to float across ICU/PCU/MS/Tele when unit needs arise
