Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts; every other weekend required (EOW)

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill cardiovascular and post-op transplant patients
- Manage and monitor patients on ECMO and support CRRT when indicated
- Deliver perioperative and postoperative care for open heart, transplant, and AAA cases
- Use Epic to document assessments, interventions, and multidisciplinary communication accurately
- Respond rapidly in a Level 1 Trauma setting and collaborate with surgical, perfusion, and critical care teams
- Support unit needs by floating to other areas as required and mentoring less-experienced staff
- Maintain required certifications and participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit) — TX license preferred or compact eligible
- Minimum 2 years of critical care experience; Cardiovascular ICU or major academic center experience strongly preferred
- Recent ECMO experience required by unit; CRRT experience preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Epic charting experience required
- Comfortable floating between units and flexible with scheduling; previous travel nursing experience is a plus
- Ability to work in a high-volume Level 1 Trauma center and handle complex post-op patients
Education
- BSN not required (position indicates BSN required: No); active RN licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular ICU care, open heart and transplant postoperative management
- Hands-on ECMO management and familiarity with CRRT
- Strong hemodynamic assessment and ventilator management skills
- Proficiency with Epic inpatient charting and electronic documentation workflows
- ACLS/BLS skills and competence with stroke scale assessments (NIHSS)
- Ability to multitask, prioritize in a busy academic medical center, and communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams
