Shift Type: Variable days, 10-hour day shifts starting between 6:00 AM - 6:30 AM (typical day shift 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM), Monday-Friday primary schedule; includes every-other-weekend requirements and on-call coverage. On-call periods begin when staff leave for the day (approximately 5:00 PM) through the start of next shift (approximately 7:00 AM); call response time 30 minutes. Shift type: day with rotating on-call coverage.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate during Cath Lab, EP and IR procedures to ensure patient safety and smooth workflow
• Administer moderate sedation and all medication administration per unit protocols
• Set up and operate specialized equipment including Balloon Pump, Impella and Rotablade
• Provide patient teaching and bedside education before and after procedures
• Coordinate safe patient transport to and from departments
• Communicate clearly with interventionalists and the multidisciplinary team using SBAR and structured hand-offs
• Maintain meticulous documentation in Cerner and Merge
• Support complex cases across EP, neuro-interventional and trauma procedures with calm, confident practice

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) required
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab or interventional nursing experience
• Experience with setting up Balloon Pump, Impella and Rotablade preferred
• Comfort with moderate sedation and circulating role (no scrub required)
• Familiarity with Cerner and Merge EMRs
• Previous travel experience is a plus but not required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a unionized, team-based environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or BSN preferred
• BSN not required for submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac Cath Lab procedures and diagnostics, including implants and pacers
• EP procedures: studies, diagnostics, ablations, Watchman and TAVR familiarity
• Complex IR and neuro-interventional procedure awareness, including thrombectomies and coils
• Equipment competency: Balloon Pump, Impella, Rotablade, ECMO exposure a plus
• Trauma/embolization and peripheral interventional knowledge
• Patient assessment during moderate sedation and critical event recognition
• Charting and workflow in Cerner and Merge
• Effective SBAR hand-offs and interdisciplinary communication
