Roles & Responsibilities
- Support and scrub for a high-volume Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology suite, assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiac, neuro, and peripheral procedures
- Operate and monitor fluoroscopy equipment safely and effectively during procedures
- Provide telemetry monitoring (GE Spacelabs) and respond to acute changes in patient status
- Prepare, handle, and maintain specialized equipment for EP studies, pacemaker implants, central lines, fistulas, and chemo ports
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, radiology, RT, and pharmacy to ensure seamless patient care
- Document patient care and procedural details accurately in Cerner
- Respond to call activations per facility response-time expectations and provide competent care during emergencies such as STEMI and trauma activations
- Maintain sterile technique and uphold infection control standards in the procedural environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology / Neurointerventional experience required
- ARRT Fluoroscopy certification required
- ACLS and BLS required; PALS required (per unit notes)
- Experience with EP procedures, pacemaker/implant cases, and central line/fistula/chemo port procedures preferred
- Previous travel assignment experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system and GE Spacelabs telemetry
- Current state licensure as applicable for Cath Lab Technologist practice
Education
- Relevant associate degree, certificate, or vocational training in cardiovascular technology or related field
- ARRT (Fluoroscopy) certification required
- No BSN required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in Cath Lab and IR procedures (left/right diagnostic and interventional cases)
- Fluoroscopy operation and safety best practices
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation using GE Spacelabs
- Experience with neurointerventional procedures (thrombectomies, coils, cerebral aneurysm care)
- EP support (studies, diagnostics, ablations) and pacemaker implant assistance
- Strong procedural aseptic technique and instrumentation handling
- Accurate EMR documentation in Cerner
- Ability to respond calmly and quickly during STEMI and trauma activations
- Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Adaptability to call rotations and variable shift needs
