Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology (EP) and Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures with precision and calm
• Prepare and maintain sterile procedure areas and ensure all cath lab equipment is ready and functioning
• Operate imaging and monitoring equipment and support image acquisition for diagnostic and interventional cases
• Monitor patient status throughout procedures and communicate changes promptly to the care team
• Document procedures and patient information accurately in Epic EMR
• Support high-volume lab workflow — this role contributes directly to managing 40–50 unit cases per day
• Respond reliably to on-call assignments and provide weekend coverage as scheduled
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a 719-bed Level I Trauma center to deliver high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via CCI required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant cath lab or cardiovascular technologist experience
• CVT credential or equivalent cardiovascular technologist training highly desirable
• Experience with Epic EMR (charting and documentation)
• Comfort working in a high-volume, Level I Trauma hospital and participating in call rotation

Education

• CVT (Cardiovascular Technologist) certification or completion of a relevant cardiovascular technologist program preferred
• Associate degree or equivalent technical training preferred
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization and interventional procedure workflow (Cath Lab, EP, IR)
• Fluoroscopy and imaging fundamentals used in invasive cardiovascular procedures
• Sterile technique and infection control practices in procedural areas
• Proficient Epic EMR documentation and charting
• Strong clinical judgement, patient monitoring, and rapid response during procedures
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain cath lab equipment and supplies
• Team communication and ability to thrive in a fast-paced trauma center
